Just a quicky.
I’m a new mom - proud owner of a rescue mutt. Her name is Elsie. I’m excited and overwhelmed. She’s still a puppy, so we have lots to work on. But so far, things are going great. I’ll post pics sometime soon.

Ohio University is getting a ton of publicity these days. Here are some numbers they won’t show you in Princeton Review:
37 - The number of engineering theses that were plagerized. Masters students in the engineering department have been busy! And now it looks like the chemical engineering masters are about to join them. Don’t think for a minute that these are innocent mistakes. The professor for whom I was a T.A. last year was on one of the committees. It was more like copying entire chapters out of textbooks…
17 - The number of Ohio University football players that were arrested in the past 9 months. Oh, and we just got around to suspending some of them after the article in the Columbus Dispatch came out, but that was totally a coincidence. Let’s not even talk about the time-honored coach who set such a wonderful example…
137,800 - number of alumni whose social securty numbers and credit card info was compromised during a hack into the school’s computer system.
2 - The number of IT employees wrongfully fired because they supposedly didn’t tell their bosses their was a problem with security. Their bosses also work in IT. (What’s the code for scapegoat again?)
We’re ranked the 6th biggest party school in the nation, we’ve had at least three girls pose nude for Playboy in the past year (under the banner another rank, which REALLY doesn’t get published in the PR). Oh, and there was another article recently about how our retention rates for females with GPAs of 2.9 or higher is, well, bad. Very bad.
So far, the president keeps making statements such as this. Sorry, but since when does denial make for good parenting?
